Tracy Concha paints 21st century subjects in a style similar

to the classic style of Goya, Velasquez, and Rembrandt.

Using defined brushstrokes, she explores the contrast

between light and shadow; form and formlessness; and the

very fine line between abstraction and realism. She has

painted many people and places—from Mount Kilimanjaro

and the Masai in Kenya, to the wild storms of

Newfoundland and New England, the Pueblo peoples of

New Mexico and streets and neighbors of Savannah,

Georgia—where she currently resides.

Tracy Concha began studying the art of painting, privately,

with her friends David Leffel and Sherrie McGraw. After

finishing a long career in textile restoration, where she

specialized in early classic weavings of the Southwest, she

has chosen to focus all her energy on the development of

her painting skills. In addition to many awards and one-

man shows, her work is exhibited in group shows and

galleries throughout the United States.
